Pick one business problem before buying another AI subscription. Count review time, corrections, integration work and license costs alongside time saved. A small measured improvement is more useful than a tool nobody can connect to a business outcome.

Hensley / Elam’s practical advice

Choose one process to review with your IT team. Identify the information involved, who checks the result, and how you will measure whether the change helps your business.

Common questions

Does faster work automatically save money?

No. Count review time, corrections, training, integration and subscriptions. Separate estimated capacity gains from money actually saved.

When should we expand a pilot?

Expand only when a defined process shows repeatable improvement, acceptable quality and manageable risk. Assign an owner and a review date so unused subscriptions do not become permanent expenses.

Hey, it's Laura with your latest Tech Update. Is AI really saving your business money? It’s a fair question. AI can help your team work faster. It can draft documents, summarize information, and cut down on repetitive tasks. But faster doesn’t always mean cheaper. Someone still needs to check the work, fix mistakes, and make sure everything’s accurate. Then there’s the cost of the tools. Before long, different teams can end up using different AI apps, all with their own subscriptions. Real value comes from solving specific business problems. So instead of asking, “Which AI tool should we buy?” ask, “Where are we losing time?” If you'd like help finding the answer, get in touch. That’s your Tech Update, more next week.
